The electric kei car segment seemed to have gained some serious momentum at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. Chinese automotive giant BYD unveiled the fully electric Racco—or Sea Otter—while Honda brought out the prototype for the Super One. Both releases solidify that this Japanese vehicle has garnered enough international interest to justify significant investment and global production runs.
And perhaps Suzuki understands this interest most of all, as it has just presented three different electric kei-type vehicles in Japan. It’s a trio of recognizable nameplates and diverse design languages. And although global releases haven’t been explicitly announced, Suzuki may have something for everyone here.

While the Vision e-Sky concept was at center stage, the fully electric e-Every concept was arguably the most intriguing vehicle on display. Rated for 200km on a full charge, the electric Every keeps the same body and style as its combustion counterpart. Visually, it looks familiar and friendly, which could make it easier for Every customers to make the switch to electric vehicles.

Back to the Vision e-Sky. While it certainly looks more modern compared to the Every concept, it still takes styling cues from the S-Presso and Suzuki’s other subcompact offerings. Exact battery and motor specs have not been revealed, but Suzuki does advertise this with a 270km driving range.

Finally, the Glydcar is not a production vehicle but rather a mobility solution from Suzuki. These electric minicars are meant to be used in public transportation systems, shuttling more than a few commuters in a compact form factor. It still embodies the spirit of the kei car, which is then coupled with new energy powerplants—like the other two concepts.
It looks like Suzuki is going all-in on electric kei cars, and these concepts look promising. Which one would you want to see go into production first?
