If there’s a segment that’s all the rage right now, it’s the seven-seater SUV/MPV class. Lately, it seems that every carmaker is racing to make a dent in that market. Not to be outdone, Suzuki Philippines has just announced that it will be bringing in the all-new iteration of its family favorite, the Ertiga

The second-generation Ertiga debuted in April last year at the Indonesia International Motor Show, so it’s actually kind of surprising that it’s taken nearly a year to arrive on our shores. Nevertheless, it’s finally coming. No concrete details have been provided by Suzuki Philippines as of now, so we can only speculate based on what’s available overseas.

Compared to the previous Ertiga’s utilitarian styling, the new version gets eye-catching bits like a redesigned grille, more dynamic-looking foglight housings, and angular headlamps. Its character lines are also noticeable sharper. In Indonesia, the MPV gets 15-inch alloy wheels.

The Indonesian-spec Ertiga comes with a 1.5-liter four-in-line DOHC with 103hp and 138Nm, mated to either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual. Stay tuned for more info when the model officially launches on January 23.
