Suzuki has just teased the all-new e-Vitara for the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Announced through Suzuki Philippines’ Facebook page, the fully electric SUV (and Toyota Urban Cruiser twin) is set to be launched on June 4, but will we get both the 2WD and AWD versions, or just the former?

According to specs on Suzuki Philippines’ official website, the e-Vitara expected to enter our market is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor. It makes 172hp and 193Nm of torque while achieving a fully electric range of 475km.

However, Suzuki Philippines also states ‘true 4x4 SUV capability’ in its introduction to the e-Vitara. Could Suzuki be hiding something under its sleeve for PIMS? That ‘something’ being an AllGrip-e AWD system?

Perhaps, but not too likely. According to the vehicle’s entry on the Department of Energy’s list of recognized EVs, the e-Vitara GLX is listed with a maximum electric power of 172hp. That output matches with the 2WD variant over the AWD-equipped version, which delivers 183hp.

Unless Suzuki is planning to introduce the 2WD variant first and preview the AWD version for a later launch, we’ll most likely expect the former to be what’s under the sheet at PIMS. If you’re keen on seeing it in the metal, you can visit the Suzuki booth at PIMS, happening from June 4 to 7 at the World Trade Center in Pasay.
