The Land Transportation Office has released homologation papers for the Suzuki Fronx, revealing key engine details and its exact dimensions. Suzuki Philippines previewed the new Fronx as a hybrid vehicle, but the papers suggest that it could pack the same mild-hybrid powertrain as the Ertiga Hybrid and the XL7 Hybrid.
Specifically, that would be a setup built around a 1.5-liter engine. The homologation papers did not include any battery details, but the electrified Eritga and the XL7 both pack 0.12kWh batteries. And because papers also did not classify the Fronx as a hybrid vehicle, it probably will not be qualified for those coveted green plates.

However, that’s not to say that mild hybrid systems are completely useless. During our drive with the less powerful Suzuki Dzire Hybrid, we pulled an impressive 24km/L through city and expressway driving. Not bad at all.

If the Fronx does indeed mirror the powertrains on the Ertiga and XL7 Hybrid, power outputs are expected to clock in at 103hp and 138Nm of torque.
Sizewise, the Fronx measures in at 3,995mm long, 1,765mm wide, and 1,550mm tall—cementing its place against the Kia Sonet and the Toyota Raize. Its wheelbase is listed as 2,520mm, which is 20mm longer than the Sonet and just 5mm shorter than the Raize. That would suggest that legroom, cargo space, and practical seating capacity should be similar between the three crossovers.
Suzuki Philippines has yet to confirm when exactly the Fronx will hit showroom floors.
