For quite some time, people have been clamoring for a bigger version of the Suzuki Jimny. Not in terms of displacement, but in terms of size. Specifically, a lot of people were asking for two extra doors for the quirky SUV.
Suzuki finally gave the public what it wanted with the reveal of the five-door Jimny sometime last year. And now, after some wait, Suzuki Philippines has finally brought the new and bigger 4x4 in.
Judging by how many people on social media viewed our clips from the launch, we can tell that a lot of you were really waiting around for this one. So without further ado, here’s a rundown of all the specs and information that you need to know about the all-new Suzuki Jimny 5-Door.

Variants and prices
Two variants are available at launch—one with a manual gearbox and the other with an automatic. The lower GL trim is priced at P1.558 million, and the higher GLX at P1.698 million. The latter can be had with a two-tone finish for an additional P10,000. You can check out the full price list below.

Exterior
The Jimny 5-Door is virtually identical to the 3-Door version in terms of design. Same headlights, same grille, same underbody claddings, same wheels.
The differences, of course, are in size. The 5-Door measures 3,820mm long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,720mm tall with a 2,590mm wheelbase and 210mm of ground clearance. For reference, the 3-Door is 170mm shorter and, surprisingly, 5mm taller. Width, meanwhile, is the same.
The Suzuki Jimny 5-Door also sits on 15-inch wheels shod in 195/80 R15 tires. It has a 40-liter fuel tank.
Interior
As with the exterior, the interior of the 5-Door Jimny is also the same as that of the 3-Door. The rear seats, of course, are now made accessible thanks to the two new doors out back. It’s also more spacious now, as this Jimny is significantly longer.
As for the rest of the cabin, Suzuki has retained basically everything. The steering wheel, dashboard, instrument cluster, and center console are all unchanged.
At the rear, luggage capacity is listed at 211 liters with the rear seats up and 332 liters with them folded down.
Engine and specs
The all-new Jimny 5-Door is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that generates 100hp at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It can be had mated to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive comes as standard. Mechanically speaking, it’s also virtually identical to the 3-Door.
Underneath, the Jimny features three-link rigid axles with coil springs both up front and at the rear. Front ventilated disc brakes and rear drum brake handle stopping power for the SUV.
Extra features
The base variant gets a seven-inch touchscreen display while the higher one has a nine-inch head unit. Both come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a four-speaker setup.
In the safety department, the Jimny 5-Door comes standard with hill-start assist and hill-descent control, a reversing camera, and rear parking sensors. The automatic trim gets added cruise control and rear seatbelt reminders as well as automatic climate controls.
