As far as contributing to the growth of the compact SUV segment is concerned, Suzuki has played as important a role as any carmaker in the business. There was the Vitara in 1988, followed by the Jimny in 1998 and then evolved by the Grand Vitara in 2005. Clearly, if there's one car company that should get credit for believing in the small SUV, it's none other than Suzuki.
For the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show, Suzuki is flaunting this, the iV-4 concept. Sporting a Brilliant Turquoise Metallic paint job, this concept vehicle measures just 4,215mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,665mm tall. What's in a name? Suzuki says "i" stands for individuality, "V" means vehicle, and "4" is for four-wheel-drive.
The plan is to make this a production model for release in 2015 in Europe. Let's hope it makes it to Philippine shores.
