The UAE? A Patrol Nismo, and it appears to be all kinds of excellent. The big, motorsport-tuned Patrol SUV formed the centerpiece of Nissan’s UAE Nismo launch--showcased alongside the aforementioned GT-R and 370Z Nismo--and exists because, in the words of Nissan, "off–roading and motorsports are the lifeblood of local driving enthusiasts." Therefore, explains Nissan, "the time is right to introduce Patrol Nismo."
So, however improbably, this is a race-inspired version of the big lug. Sadly, there is no GT-R engine lurking underneath, but instead a modified version of the Patrol’s 5.6-liter V8, which produces 428hp (up from around 400hp), with torque said to have been improved 70% across the rev range.
There are Bilstein shock absorbers, customized body reinforcements "for precision steering and quick response" (an added yes!), a zero-lift aerodynamic bodykit, Nismo-tuned power steering, and 22-inch Rays forged-alloy wheels. Oh, and a bespoke Nismo interior. Because performance.
"We could not have launched Nismo in the region without including our most iconic model," says Nissan Middle East managing director Samir Cherfan.
