Remember the Nissan Maxima nameplate? It may no longer be sold in our market today, but the model continues to exist in other parts of the globe (particularly in the United States). Well, the Japanese carmaker has released a couple of official photos of the sedan, which the company markets as a "four-door sports car."

The official reveal will take place at the New York Auto Show in April, but Nissan wants you to have a two-dimensional peek at the car now. The new Maxima also apparently appeared in Nissan's touching Super Bowl commercial early this week.

Does the new Maxima remind you of the Murano?
