In 2014, the Subaru Legacy midsize model will turn 25 years old. Quite a milestone. To celebrate this, the Japanese carmaker is displaying at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show a Legacy concept car, depicted here in what look to be computer-generated images. As the current model is the fifth generation, this concept appears to hint at the design direction for the sixth edition.
The paint job for this show car is called Ocean Silver Metallic, said to be a light-blue metallic silver color with a metallic sheen.
In describing the face of this concept car, Subaru says: \"The dynamic and solid appearance is created by a three-dimensional structure that starts at the iconic hexagon front grille and continues to the whole body. The iconic grille was also employed for the Subaru Viziv concept, which was revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The distinctive silhouette of headlamps and accessory lamps creates an advanced and aggressive fascia.\"
As for the rear, Subaru explains: \"The same design motif used on the front headlamps is applied to the rear combination lamps, creating an iconic look with a hexagonal design in both the front grille and the rear trunk. This emphasizes the depth and the dynamism of the overall style. The dual tailpipes built into the edges of the rear bumper echo a vertically long shape from the air intakes on the front bumper. At the bottom of the rear bumper, a rear diffuser and aluminum silver garnishes are employed, aiming for both vehicle aerodynamics and design.\"
Since this is still a concept car, we can expect several design elements to be changed here. If you could give Subaru\'s design team some unsolicited advice, which elements would you like to go and which ones would you like to be retained?
