For those in the know about all things Toyota, TOM’S is a fabled name. It’s one of Toyota’s authorized tuning shops and has been involved in motorsports since the ‘70s. This year, TOM’S (Tachi Oiwa Motor Sport) turns 50.
To celebrate that milestone, the tuning firm is rolling out several models for the upcoming 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. TOM’S is going all out by showcasing six vehicles, one of which includes a restomodded legend from the ‘90s.

Of the six models to be show, TOM’S has previewd three of them. First up is the Toyota Alphard by TOM'S, giving the luxury van a sportier vibe with a body kit and a bigger set of wheels. We’re (almost) certain that there will be TOM’S bits under the chassis, but those have yet to be mentioned.

While we’re on the subject of luxury, TOM’S will also display their take on the Lexus IS 500. Like the TOM’S Alphard, it gets several exterior body enhancements, but the main highlight here is its exhaust system. It’s a full titanium system that lets its V8 sing even louder.

As for the third model, that would be the GR Corolla TK. The TK stands for Takamoto Katsuta, one of Toyota’s works drivers for the WRC and team mate of back-to-back champion, Kalle Rovanperä. It features additional aerodynamic enhancements, a unique front and rear bumper treatment, a higher wing, and even more exhaust pipes.
What TOM’S is keeping hidden for now are its versions of the Lexus LM and the Toyota Prius. But the tuning firm’s grand reveal during the show will be its restomodded A80 Supra made with their performance parts. We’re pretty excited to see that, and we’re curious how TOM’S modernizes a ‘90s legend.
