Regular visitors to this site may remember the Velocity Restorations’ 1967 Ford Mustang we reviewed—and rather liked—around a year ago. Now, the ‘classic vehicle modernizer,’ as it calls itself, has revealed its latest work at this year’s SEMA show in Vegas: Meet the world’s first restomod Fox Body Mustang.
What you’re looking at is a 1991 Velocity Mustang Fox Body LX, to give it its full name, with a very modern touch. Indeed no stone has been left unturned, with the complete overhaul including a Jet Black BASF Glasurit paintjob, two-inch hood scoop, custom side splitters, and 18in CCW SA50 wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

And feast your eyes on that tasteful cabin. It gets a bespoke steering wheel, dash, door panels and center console, plus Recaro heated seats and Alcantara headliner. But it’s not without its creature comforts, because you'll find Dakota digital gauges, a Vintage Air climate control system, plus a Blaupunkt head unit and Focal audio system. And look, USB ports!
Not that you’ll be needing to use the stereo here, because up top sits a Ford Performance 5.0-liter Coyote V8 paired with a Whipple 3.0-liter inverted supercharger and 10-speed automatic gearbox, which sends all 800 horsepower via a carbon driveshaft to the rear wheels. We imagine this thing is rather… lairy.
“The Fox Body holds a special place in automotive culture,” said Velocity CEO Stuart Wilson. “We set out to reimagine it with the same spirit that made it iconic, while infusing the craftsmanship, comfort and capability that define Velocity. We’re constantly looking for the next evolution of re-engineered classics, and this Fox Body embodies that.”
No price is given, but if you have to ask…
