TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Ferrari's exhibit of Pininfarina-designed cars draws record crowd

The Ferrari Museum in Maranello recently inaugurated its "The Great Ferraris From Sergio Pininfarina" exhibit. In a week's time since its doors opened to the public, record numbers of crowds have trooped to the venue.

According to Ferrari, in the morning of November 2 alone, over 1,000 visitors viewed the exhibition, resulting in an absolute record for the museum. In addition, due to the high numbers of visitors, the organizers have supposedly doubled the tours with shuttle buses.

The exhibition comprises 22 models and includes one-offs like the Pinin, Ferrari's lone experiment with a four-door car, and the 330 GTC Speciale once owned by Lilian, Princess de Rethy of Belgium.

The cars in the exhibit are split between three separate, themed halls that tell the story of Pininfarina's work on racing cars ("Pininfarina and Racing"), road cars ("Pininfarina and the Grand Tourers"), and some of the experimental models bodied by the Turin coachbuilder ("Pininfarina and the Concept Cars"). In addition to the cars, many previously unseen exhibits from the Pininfarina family’s private and company collections will also be on display--like the wooden styling buck of the Modulo concept car.

The exhibit is open to the public seven days a week, from 9:30am to 6:00pm, and runs until January 7, 2013. Tickets may be booked online at www.museoferrari.com.
