Fiesta continues to boost Ford Group Philippines' sales

Ford Group Philippines continued to enjoy strong sales with the popularity of the Fiesta among new-vehicle buyers in the local market.

The American brand closed the month of May with sales reaching 817 units, 85 percent higher than the sales it made in the same month last year.

The Fiesta alone contributed to almost 40 percent of Ford's total sales in May with 324 units rolling out of the carmaker's showrooms last month.

"The all-new Fiesta continues to drive our fantastic run of monthly sales performances this year, underscoring its strategic role in not only transforming our business, but also the competitive landscape as one of the clear leaders of its segment," said Ford Group Philippines president Randy Krieger.

Aside from the Fiesta, the Ford Focus also posted its best monthly performance with sales of 62 units. The Everest, meanwhile, posted a sales growth of 47 percent with 226 units, and the Ranger, 38 percent to 102 units.

"We're continuing to experience strong demand across our full product lineup that is contributing to our very positive performance," Krieger said. “It's a strong indication that our One Ford strategy is working, and we're offering the right One Ford vehicles in this market that suit a diverse range of Filipino lifestyles and requirements."

Ford's total sales in the first five months of the year has reached 3,968 units, 63 percent higher than sales from January to May 2010.
