A strong demand for the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Everest sport-utility vehicle (SUV) drove sales of the American brand to 764 units in April, 23 percent higher than the number of vehicles it sold in the same month last year.
"The new Fiesta is increasingly being recognized as one of the clear leaders in the highly competitive B-segment--both by Filipino customers who are continuing to drive strong sales of this fantastic car, as well as respected independent parties who are endorsing the Fiesta with things like the Car of the Year award," Ford Group Philippines president Randy Krieger.
Ford sold 283 units of the all-new Fiesta in April, the same month it received the Philippine Car of the Year award for being the best subcompact car in the country today.
The American car company sold 227 units of the Ford Everest last month, bringing the SUV’s year-to-date sales to 946 units, up 36 percent from the same period in 2010.
Overall sales of Ford-brand vehicles in the Philippines from January to April reached an impressive 58-percent growth from sales in the same months last year.
"We're determined to continue building on this success, and further expanding our customer opportunity with attractive promotions like our current 'Drive One' campaign in showrooms nationwide," explained Krieger.
