Ford Group Philippines promises a safer and more comfortable ride with the introduction of the 2009 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition.
"The Ford Explorer has been the benchmark SUV (sport-utility vehicle) for capability, safety and luxury for more than two decades and we are delighted that, once again, we are bringing to the Filipino customer the best of our products," said Ford Philippines president Rick Baker.
The 2009 Ford Explorer carries the Ford-exclusive AdvanceTrac and roll stability control (RSC) system, as well as the new trailer sway control system which promises improved ride stability.
"Trailer Sway Control works in conjunction with the AdvanceTrac with RSC to determine from the yaw motion of the vehicle if the trailer is swaying and take measures - such as applying precise braking or reduced engine torque - to bring both vehicle and trailer under control," Ford said.
The new Explorer also includes standard safety features from Ford such as the curtain air bags for the protection of rear and front passengers during crashes, and the seatbelt reminding chime that goes off every 30 seconds for five minutes or until the driver buckles up.
To boost comfort, the Ford Explorer features leather-wrapped cabin, adjustable driver and passenger seats, a Dual Zone Electronic Temperature Control that has separate temperature settings for the driver and passenger, an Audiophile 6-CD in-dash CD system with MP3 capability, 6 speakers and a bass-pounding subwoofer. Ford also offers a supplementary DVD entertainment system for to keep even the rear passengers entertained during a trip.
For the driver, the Explorer carries power adjustable accelerator and brake pedals with built-in memory, as well as a new rearview mirror with an electro-chromic dimming feature to prevent discomfort due to glare.
The release of the new-look Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition completes Ford Philippines' lineup of the brand's 2009 North American models.
