Ford Group Philippines has introduced the Ranger Wildtrak to cater the automotive demands of urban professionals who become urban warriors on weekends.

An array of exterior treatments gives the Ford Ranger Wildtrak a metropolitan-yet-outdoorsy façade that make it distinct from its regular Ranger sibling. Exclusive features include the body-colored tailgate cladding, box rails and roof rails with aluminum bar accents complemented by frame-mounted aluminum side-step running boards with faux-titanium end caps, and a body-colored sports bar located just behind the cabin and mounted on the pickup bed.

To make sure everyone notices the Ford Ranger Wildtrak is no ordinary truck, this urban lifestyle pickup also has an under-rail bedliner, a front bumper overrider, body side cladding with Wildtrak decals and illuminated scuff plates with the Wildtrak logo. Capping off the Wildtrak-exclusive features are the 16-inch alloy wheels.

Despite the Ranger's proven toughness and capability, the Wildtrak provides car-like comfort with features like the ergonomically-crafted seats, climate control, MP3-compatible audio system, and a body shell engineered to isolate the cabin from road noise.

Powering the Ford Ranger Wildtrak is a 2.5-liter Duratorq TDCi common-rail diesel engine that puts down 143hp while its class-leading torque of 330 Newton-meters at 1,800rpm promises excellent off-the-line acceleration. Helping control the Wildtrak's power is a four-sensor, three-channel, four-wheel antilock braking system with Electronic Brake Force Distribution that provides maximum stopping power under any road condition.

"The Ranger Wildtrak builds upon the new Ranger's Tough Style design and genuine class-leading Built Ford Tough strength and durability that have made it one of the most respected trucks in the market," said Steve Tan, Ford Philippines vice president for marketing and sales.

The new Ford Ranger Wildtrak arrives in Ford showrooms today and is available as a 4x2 Double Cab High Rider variant with a choice of either five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmissions. It comes in three body colors: Black Mica, Winning Blue, and Cool White.
