Another blow to motorists' pocket

Another oil price hike has hit motorists as the prices of petroleum products went up by as much as P1.50 per liter on April 13.

Independent oil company Flying V was the first to raise prices at 12:01 a.m., with gasoline products up by P1 per liter while the prices of diesel and kerosene were raised by P1.50 per liter.

Seaoil Philippines and Chevron (formerly Caltex) Philippines followed suit at 6 a.m. with both companies increasing the prices of their premium gasoline, diesel and kerosene products by P1 per liter while the price of regular gasoline went up by 50 centavos per liter.

Pilipinas Shell, Petron Corp. and other independent oil companies have yet to announce if and when they will implement a similar price hike.

According to the oil firms, this week's price adjustment was due to the upward movement of oil prices in the global market.
