Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept

We know many Land Rover purists the world over literally cringed when the brand's luxury brand, Range Rover,  released the LRX concept followed by the production-version Evoque. Now, Range Rover is ready to give the world another jolt with the revelation of the Range Rover Evoque convertible concept.

Land Rover admits that the Evoque variant is indeed a "bold concept" but it's out to discover potential for a fresh product.

"The Evoque lends itself beautifully to the idea of a convertible," said Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's design director. "This study is not a traditional convertible design execution--instead we have worked with the balance of the Evoque's lines to retain its distinctive shape and create something that is unique and, we believe, highly desirable."

The Range Rover Evoque convertible concept, based on the Evoque Coupe, comes with a fully-retractable soft-top roof system. Land Rover maintains, however, that the new design does not compromise the brand's DNA found in the new product with key characteristics like an all-terrain capability and a command driving position.

The soft-top SUV also comes with the Evoque's award-winning technology like park assist, surround cameras and terrain response.

Other features include 21-inch Titan silver wheels, leather seats and class-leading infotainment with an eight-inch dual-view touchscreen and sound system.

Like many other concept-vehicle releases, the unveiling of the Evoque at the Geneva Motor Show in March will be used to gauge the public's reaction toward the vehicle. Will it be the star of the show or will it be ignored?
