Hua Hin, Thailand--Goodyear Asia Pacific has launched the Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 performance tire and the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 high-performance tire in a grand event witnessed by members of the Asian media and Goodyear dealers throughout the region.
The Eagle F1 Directional 5 is a tire for what Goodyear calls a mid-sports performance vehicle. Examples of these are sports sedans like the BMW 3-Series and Mitsubishi Lancer. According to Goodyear Asia Pacific managing director Richard Fleming, the Directional 5 comes with the SportGrip Technology, emphasizing, well, grip, on all road conditions. New features of the Directional 5, or D5, include a smoother and quieter ride, and more even wear over time. The D5 is available in +1" or 2" kit-ups for rim sizes from 15" to 20", a range designed for Asia Pacific vehicle fitments.
The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is the high-performance tire, designed for sports cars like Maseratis, Porsches and Ferraris. Goodyear emphasized its improved braking on wet and dry roads. It supposedly stops two meters shorter than the average performance of three leading competitors. New features include reduced fuel consumption care of a lighter tire weight, lower road noise and better mileage. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is available for 17" to 20" rim diameters.
If you're wondering when our market is going to get these tires, wonder no more and just save up. According to Goodyear Philippines marketing communications manager Bessie Arciga, stocks are already in our country and on their way to local Goodyear dealers. Prices ranges are P4,000 to P10,000 for the D5 and P6,000 to P15,000 for the Asymmetric 2.
