Goodyear Philippines has launched its EfficientGrip SUV tire, the American tiremaker's quietest SUV tire ever.

"People who own SUVs and 4x4 vehicles are mostly driven by the need to feel in control and safe when traveling along on-road and off-road surfaces," said Goodyear Philippines managing director Ron Castro. "But SUV owners today, who mainly drive in urban settings, know what it takes to truly enjoy their vehicle--the added driving comfort of a sedan in an SUV."

Thanks to its QuietTred Technology, which is a combination of a noise-dampening tread design and a shock-absorbing carcass, the EfficientGrip SUV tire gives "an exceptionally quiet ride without compromising grip and handling capabilities."

The shock-absorbing carcass also features a high-steel, belt angle construction that allows for more structural flexibility to reduce vibrations from road impact.

According to Goodyear, based on instrumented interior noise tests conducted by its Innovation Center in Luxembourg, the EfficientGrip SUV tire outperforms its predecessor in both noise and driving comfort. Even when worn, the tire is supposedly as quiet as a brand-new pair of its predecessor.

"Goodyear's EfficientGrip SUV tires are proof of our continued commitment to increase the value of our brand with innovation, delivering on the core needs of SUV drivers," added Castro. "Now, SUV drivers can enjoy their vehicle with more driving comfort and confidence."

Goodyear's EfficientGrip SUV tire is now available at all Goodyear Autocare outlets and service centers nationwide, in multiple sizes and from 15- to 20-inch rim diameters, "allowing for comfortable and confident driving for a wide range of SUVs."
