Hyundai PH's sales growth this year is 8% with only one month left

Despite 25% drop in November
Dec 11, 2012 Philippine Car News - Hyundai PH sustains 8-percent sales growth year-to-date

Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) registered an eight-percent growth in total sales from January to November 2012, selling 20,491 units compared with 18,922 units for the same period last year.

For the passenger-car segment, HARI saw a 27-percent rise in sales with 12,631 units, as against the 9,913 units sold for the same period in 2011. HARI attributed its growth in the passenger-car segment to the sales of the Eon, the Accent and the Elantra.

The month of November, however, saw HARI dropping its sales performance by 25 percent with only 1,673 units, as compared with the 2,217 units sold in November 2011. According to HARI, although the Eon, the i10 and the Genesis Coupe posted positive sales growth, the delayed arrival of other models, specifically those in the light-commercial-vehicle segment, slowed the company's sales for the month.

HARI remains positive that it will close 2012 and enter 2013 on a high note.

"Continued positive consumer outlook, backed by a bullish Philippine economy, keeps inventory moving, particularly among our best-selling passenger car models," said HARI president and chief executive Fe Perez-Agudo. "Come year end and the start of 2013, we expect to sustain, or even exceed, our positive performance."
