The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) has announced its overall sales target for 2025. After selling 467,252 units in 2024, CAMPI aims to hit the 500,000 mark by the end of this year. The goal was made together with the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), and it looks like the industry is already off to a strong start.
CAMPI and TMA reported that 37,604 units were sold in January 2025, which marks a 10.4% increase as compared to January 2024. If the industry can sustain this momentum, then the 500,000 sales target should be well within reach.

CAMPI president Atty. Rommel Gutierrez cemented the industry’s goal by saying, “CAMPI is confident in setting the aspirational figure of 500,000 units sale as its target for this year. Newly-rolled-out models and the anticipated introduction of new models are some of the factors that will contribute to achieving this target.”
Last year saw a considerable rise in EVs, with the BYD Atto 3 leading the segment with over 1,000 units sold. For hybrid vehicles, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i sold relatively well within this growing market with 2,669 units sold, making it the most popular BYD product in the Philippines.
However automotive stalwarts like Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), and Mitsubishi Motor Philippines (MMPC) are still instrumental in achieving this goal. In 2024, TMP and MMPC led the industry in sales with 48.07% and 19.61% respective market shares. Even with the incessant rise of several Chinese brands, the two Japanese automakers are still the flagbearers for the Philippine automotive industry. They will likely stay atop the mountain this year as well.
