Grab and SM are teaming up to give shoppers a convenient ride home

A free ride is just a couple of taps away

SM and ride-hailing platform Grab are working together to provide mall-goers with a quick and convenient way to get home after an exhausting shopping spree. The two companies will be giving away a total of 10,000 Grab coupons in Metro Manila and other key cities across the Philippines, worth either a P300 ride or a 50% discount each.

Getting a coupon is simple. First, you'll have to register with the SM Supermalls app. Afterwards, open it and head to the coupons tab, tap 'Claim Promo Code' on the Grab coupon, after which you will receive a  text containing the code. Input said code in the Grab app promo field to avail either of the following: a free P300 GrabCar ride (for new users, March 22 onwards) or a discount on three GrabShare rides (up to P150 for existing users, April 3 onwards).

SM Supermalls senior vice president for marketing Jonjon San Agustin says the promo is a show of the company's commitment to providing a convenient mall-going experience for its shoppers. "Our collaboration with Grab marks not just a beginning of a bigger and long-term partnership, but also gives a glimpse of what our customers must watch out for in the coming months,” he said in a statement.

As of now, there are Grab booths present in 20 SM malls nationwide. Hopefully that number continues to grow, because God knows the last thing you want to do after walking around a mall all day is to spend an extra hour or two hailing a taxicab, then have it turn you down because your home is not where it's headed.
