Grab to give drivers additional benefits via partnership with Petron

Good news for Grab drivers: the transportation network company (TNC) has partnered with Petron to give drivers and employees special benefits and privileges including 24-hour towing and roadside assistance, insurance coverage and medical reimbursement. How? Through its new Grab-branded Petron Value Card (PVC).

The PVC will be handed to all Grab vehicles (except Grab Taxi) and its benefits will be on top of those they already have upon joining the TNC. With the PVC, Grab drivers can earn peso points every time they refuel with Petron Blaze 100, XCS, Xtra Advance, Turbo Diesel and Diesel Max. Said points may be used to redeem Petron products or converted to cellphone load, air miles, groceries or movies, among other options.

Another way for Grab drivers to earn points is through the PVC Frequent Visit promo. Under this, the cardholder receives points for every fifth visit to a Petron Station. Drivers also get points if they refuel within five days of his or her birthday.

All this is in addition to the aforementioned roadside assistance, P10,000 free personal accident insurance and P1,000 medical reimbursement.

Grab Philippines country head Brian Cu says: "Our goal has always been to take care of our peers and drivers, and we want to stretch their income in any way we can. We are positive that this partnership with Petron will give our drivers more flexibility in their expenses."

Distribution of the PVC cards will be at Libis, Araneta-Cubao, Fisher Mall, Manila, Imus and Metro East. The company says more information is available via its Facebook page and official website. 

It's good to see a transportation company taking care of its employees.
