GWM Philippines is doing its part in combating the new excise taxes on pickup trucks. The Chinese carmaker is offering the facelifted Cannon with a friendly down payment of just P58,000.
This promotion is available until August 31, 2025, and on both variants of the Cannon, namely the base Lux+ variant and the higher-spec’d SLux+ trim. Do also note that GWM PH is retaining its seven-year or 200,000km warranty program.

While the term ‘facelift’ usually means aesthetic changes and perhaps a few performance tweaks here and there, GWM went the whole nine yards and gave its pickup a more spirited 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine. We got the opportunity to take the new Cannon for a spin around a closed track, and the new powerplant gives the pickup a stronger and more confident step. At least compared to the previous 2.0-liter mill.
The refined rear leaf suspension also makes for a more comfortable and sturdy ride, which complements the refreshed interior. Car buyers who opt for the SLux+ will also get more ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control and low-speed follow assist.
However, both Cannon variants come standard with a 4x4 drive system, and a more reserved look that features matte black finishes, and a lot less shiny chrome.
