Honda PH to raise prices of vehicle lineup come July 1, 2019

Planning to buy a Honda soon? Well, we have both good and bad news for you.

The bad news is that the Japanese carmaker has announced it will be raising the prices of its Philippine lineup. The good news? Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) says the price increase will kick in on July 1, 2019, so you still have time.

Yeah, sit down and let this sink in for a moment.

So, what gives? According to a statement by HCPI president Noriyuki Takakura, the company has been facing “challenges due to unfavorable foreign exchange rates that has affected our business.” He also assured that the company did everything possible to minimize the effect on consumers.

“We hope for your kindest understanding and loyalty to Honda,” Takakura said. “We assure that we shall continue to provide vehicles with the highest quality for your utmost satisfaction.”

Again, the price hike is set to begin in July, meaning you still have time to buy a Honda at current rates. We’ll give you the updated HCPI price list as soon as it’s made available. Let’s all hope the increase isn’t too substantial.
