It’s a milestone year for us here at Top Gear Philippines. Mind you, this is the real thing—unlike the baby milestones we consider for our weekly podcasts. TGP just turned 20!
Just like that, it’s been two decades of Top Gear. It feels like only yesterday when we first opened the website or released our last magazine issues. It’s been one hell of a ride so far, and frankly, we’re just getting started.
Of course, we wouldn’t let this momentous year pass without having a small celebration, which we had with our friends from across the automotive industry as well as some of the people we’ve worked with over the past 12 months or so. And to really mark the occasion, we also brought back something very special and dear to our brand: the Top Gear Awards.

For the first time since the pandemic, we held a face-to-face awards night, albeit it was a surprise for our friends from the car and motorcycle brands. Suffice to say, none of them saw it coming. And for this year’s awards, we threw it back to our magazine days. We presented the winners not with mere trophies but with magazine cover mock-ups created by our former art director Jaykee Evangelista, whose works you may have already seen before from Groundworks Design.
A total of 14 awards were handed out, with the biggest one in Car of the Year going to none other than the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Without further ado, we’ll list down the winners here and insert the mock-up covers afterward. Scroll on to see more. Which cars would you like to see in next year’s awards?
