Earlier this week, Inchcape announced Robert McAllister as the new country head of Inchcape Philippines. The distributor currently represents Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar-Land Rover, and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles in the country.
Alex Hammett, Inchcape managing director for South Asia and Pacific, said: “We are pleased to welcome Robert to Inchcape. His broad international experience across automotive distribution, OEM partnerships, and business transformation will be valuable as we continue to strengthen our operations and pursue growth opportunities in the Philippines.”

McAllister’s background includes senior positions with Volkswagen Group and Ford Motor Company across the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and China. Most recently, he held leadership roles in Al-Futtaim Automotive, a major distributor of commercial and passenger vehicles in the Middle East and Africa.

Inchcape Philippines is currently reorganizing its portfolio, having mutually ended partnerships with Stellantis and Changan this year. Its operation and management contract with Mazda C5 Pasig also ended in August 2026. Hammett previously said: “Our decision in the Philippines was really to focus on the brands that we feel have the right product and price that can adapt to the finances in the country.”

To replace the marques that have exited its roster, Inchcape Philippines reportedly plans to introduce new ones to the Philippines. Hammett commented: “We think that the new brands we’re going to be bringing in will be able to look after our employees. We intend to be able to bring in new brands that can redirect some of our talent.”
No formal information on these new brands has surfaced since the statement was made. Whatever these may be, McAllister will oversee the direction Inchcape Philippines takes in the local market going forward.
