Local Kia owners must be envious of their counterparts in Australia since the Korean carmaker's distributor in that country has rolled out "an industry-leading package that sets a new standard for customer care in the Australian automotive landscape."
From its previous five-year warranty program, Kia Motors Australia has increased it to a seven-year, unlimited-kilometers warranty. On top of that, the distributor added capped-price service and roadside assistance programs for the same period.
"This is a watershed moment in customer care," said Kia Motors Australia chief operating officer Damien Meredith. "Kia customers now have a peace of mind that can't be matched in the Australian new-car market."
What's even better is that the so-called "7-7-7 program" applies not just to new-car buyers but also to Kia owners who are part of the current five-year capped-price program since they'll be given an additional two years as part of the new seven-year plan.
"Kia acknowledges that there is huge choice available in the new-car market in Australia, and we need to be ready to build a lifetime relationship with our customers, anticipating and providing for their needs when they make that decision to join the Kia family," Meredith added.
If only our local manufacturers and distributors--not just Kia, mind you--were just as generous.
