Lexus has teamed up with online art community DeviantArt to design one IS sports sedan it will display at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas in November later this year.
Through an art contest, DeviantArt and Lexus challenged the members of the design community to show their vision for the IS with custom exterior treatments and modifications. The winning design will then be turned into reality by VIP Auto Salon and displayed at Lexus's space at SEMA.
From the more than 600 submitted entries, contest judges (Lexus corporate manager for marketing communications Brian Bolain; VIP Auto Salon president Clark Ishihara; Motor Trend associate online editor Nate Martinez; and Calty Design Research studio chief designer Alex Shen) then narrowed it down to 25 before finally selecting Rob Evans's entry as the winning design.
Besides seeing his creation come to life, Evans will also receive a one-year lease of a Lexus IS F Sport, a $2,000 cash prize, a trip to the SEMA Show to see his IS concept on display, 8,000 DeviantArt points, and a one-year premium membership to the online art community.
Pretty cool, huh?
