Manila Auto Salon is entertaining aftermarket fans anew Nov. 20-23

Manila Auto Salon

The annual and leading automotive aftermarket show in the Philippines is back this weekend. The 2014 Manila Auto Salon is opening its doors on November 20 (Thursday) and will run until November 23 (Sunday), at the SMX Convention Center in the Mall of Asia compound in Pasay City. The theme for this year's show is "Mad About Styling and Tuning," which should tell you that the much-awaited expo for gearheads will focus heavily on car modifications.

"The Philippine car-show scene will not be complete without the Manila Auto Salon," said Sophie delos Santos, president of Tradeshow International, the organizer of the event. "This year-end motoring event specifically designed for the hardcore petrolheads, is the motor show that covers the Philippine automotive aftermarket scene."

Delos Santos added that the event aims to cater to vehicle owners who are now "faced with challenges brought about by the pending vehicle modification regulations."

"I believe in one's right to modify a vehicle to suit his or her lifestyle," she declared. "After all, your vehicle is like your second home--at least for the true car enthusiast."

According to the organizer, this year's MAS will feature over 150 custom cars, sport trucks, SUVs and tuner cars vying for various awards. Watch for the project cars of popular aftermarket shops like Car Porn Racing and 199 Off-Road House. Serving as the show's judges are Beeboy Bargas, Pepon Marave, George Apacible, Charlie Cruz, Nilo Escalona, John Escobar, Sophie delos Santos, Bernie Bayani and Alex Claudio.

There will be special exhibits on car maintenance products, performance parts and accessories, racing products, car audio and electronics, replacement parts, bodykit, brake systems, safety and navigation equipment, chemicals and lubricants, tires and wheels, automotive tools, engine parts, paint products, and car-themed clothing and other lifestyle products.
