Mazda Philippines has formally announced its role as the Official Automotive Partner of the Michelin Guide Manila and Environs – Cebu 2027 ceremony. Taking place this October, the prestigious culinary award is returning after its inaugural selection last year to once again honor outstanding dining experiences in Metro Manila and Cebu.
The Japanese automaker shares that the partnership echoes and aligns with one of its corporate values, Omotenashi. This is defined as the Japanese philosophy of “thoughtful hospitality and creating meaningful experiences.” According to Mazda Philippines president and CEO Steven Tan, this informs the experience the brand aims to evoke with its vehicles.
The Michelin Guide describes its return to the Philippines as a “return to familiar ground,” having found “a dining scene gathering momentum in intriguing ways” and “a cuisine becoming more articulate about where it comes from—and more assured about where it is going.” The ceremony will reveal the full list of awardees on October 29.

The ceremony also coincides with the centenary year of the Michelin Star rating system, first introduced in 1926. One star indicates a high-quality establishment “worth a stop,” two stars highlight an excellent restaurant “worth a detour,” and three stars recognize truly exceptional cuisine “worth a special journey” just to experience.

Besides the reveal of the latest Michelin Star, Bib Gourmand, and Michelin Selected restaurants, special awards are also being honored to exceptional individuals in the Filipino culinary scene.
Although the ceremony is an invite-only event, it will be livestreamed for the public on the Michelin Guide’s official YouTube channel. That’s something to watch out for next month.
