To address the foreseen increase in demand for its Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission in the next few years, Mazda has invested over 26 billion yen (over P10.47 billion) in an assembly plant in Thailand.

Located just 5km from its Auto Alliance Thailand vehicle manufacturing plant in the Rayong province, Mazda Powertrain Manufacturing Thailand is expected to be fully operational by 2016. With a manufacturing capacity of 400,000 units annually, approximately 83% of its output will be earmarked for the export market.

So, let\'s chalk up one more foreign investment for the Thailand automotive industry.
