Eurobrands Distributor Incorporated, the authorized distributor of Peugeot vehicles in the Philippines, is finally bringing in what could be its most exciting model to date: the 208 GTi.
Powered by a 1.6-liter engine that puts out 200hp and 275Nm through a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, the 208 GTi promises to be worthy of continuing the iconic status of the 205 GTi, which conquered the sport of rallying during its time.
To show the 208 GTi's racing potential, Peugeot is displaying at the 2014 Manila International Auto Show a replica of the 208 T16 R2, one of the many guises of the 208 GTi in the world of motorsports. The original 208 T16 R2 has competed in the European Rally Car Championship as well as the Nurburgring 24 Hour Race. This should give Filipino car enthusiasts a glimpse into how such a small wonder of engineering can become a menacing and dominant machine on the racetrack.
Check out the standard 208 GTi as well as the 208 T16 R2 replica at Peugeot's sizable pavilion at MIAS, which runs from April 3 to 6 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
