Looks like the force is with Mitsubishi: In July 2024, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines achieved its best-ever sales in a single month, with exactly 8,000 units sold.
This was announced by Toshiaki Kato, the Japanese carmaker’s executive vice president for sales and marketing, to members of the Philippine media that covered the 2024 Asia Cross Country Rally in Thailand. The official added that the sales figure represents a 20% market share for Mitsubishi for the month of July.

Versus the brand’s June 2024 sales, this also corresponds to a month-on-month improvement of 7.3%. In contrast, the automotive industry as a whole recorded much more modest growth from June to July, at just 0.6%.

The carmaker has not released sales figures for individual models, but historically, the brand’s sales drivers are the Xpander and the Mirage G4. Of course, the XForce was launched late in June, with deliveries of the subcompact crossover kicking off on July 5.
Mitsubishi representatives believe that the model’s local introduction very likely had a positive impact on last month’s sales because it was not preceded by an outgoing model—unlike the current Triton, which replaced the Strada earlier this year. As such, it caters to buyers in a segment that the carmaker previously did not compete in.
We’ll see in the coming months if the XForce will continue to strengthen the brand’s sales performance. If you’re interested in the model, you can check out our review here.
