Nissan Philippines will have a new president effective April 1, 2026, just one year after its current president was appointed to the position. What will this mean for the brand’s current plans?

The role will be taken on by Yoshinori Kanazawa, the current managing director of the Nissan Importers Business Unit in ASEAN, and managing director of Nissan Singapore. Meanwhile, current Nissan PH president Masao Tsutsumi has been promoted to president of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand.

Kanazawa has almost two decades of experience. His background includes corporate planning, product planning, and dealer network development, and he has contributed to strategic planning and dealer network expansion in Nissan China. He has also held leadership positions in Japan and other international markets.

Currently, Kanazawa oversees Nissan’s importer business operations in Southeast Asia, working closely with regional partners to support ASEAN market development. As president of Nissan PH, he will report to the president of ASEAN and Thailand while being based in Manila.

During Tsutsumi’s one-year tenure as Nissan PH president, he announced that from 2026 to 2028, there would be three to four model launches per year. That would mean nine to 12 new models being launched in the Philippines during the three-year period. He also led dealership expansions in Carmona, Cavite; San Juan del Monte, Bulacan; and Bukidnon, strengthening the brand’s presence in different parts of the country.

With Kanazawa taking over in April, we look forward to the announcement of future developments for the brand, as well as whether the planned three to four car launches annually will push through for this year and continue until 2028.
