The local government of Quezon City will attempt to systemize the public parking spaces along Tomas Morato Avenue and Timog Avenue. New regulations will be implemented, which will keep parking free while limiting the amount of time a vehicle can occupy one space.

A dry run of these rules will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, and will span the entire length of Tomas Morato and Timog Avenue. Beginning that day, every vehicle parked on the aforementioned avenues will be issued a parking ticket that will entitle them to three hours of free parking.

After their three hours have expired, drivers will need to move their vehicles to another vacant slot. If a car exceeds its three-hour limit, a parking violation will be issued to the driver. Each parking slot will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The city government firmly reiterated that parking fees of any kind are prohibited in this initiative. At the same time, tickets and violations will only be issued by official personnel from the Quezon City Transport and Traffic Management Department. Drivers and citizens can also report their concerns to the same office. Parking along Tomas Morato and Timog will remain free until the city’s Public Pay Parking Ordinance is passed.

This comes as the latest initiative from the city’s ReVibe campaign, which aims to boost Quezon City’s capacity as a tourist destination. Would you want to see similar parking regulations in your city? Let us know in the comments.
