There’s no denying that if you live in Metro Manila, you’re likely a mall person. Why don’t we like dining, shopping and walking in neighborhoods full of trees, shaded walkways and pedestrian-friendly walking paths? Because they don’t exist. And don’t say it’s useless to make walkable spaces in this humid weather. Singapore is equally humid, but it’s very walkable.
Anyway, until Metro Manila discovers the true meaning of urban planning, we will be mall people. So it’s a good thing there are new malls like Opus, Robinsons Malls’ latest project.
Just opened recently this year, Robinsons calls Opus “the city’s newest and iconic lifestyle destination.” Located in the new Bridgetowne Destination Estate along C5, Opus is a complete mall with a supermarket, curated restaurants, and a cinema.
And for the growing number of owners of electric vehicles in Metro Manila, Opus has partnered with Shell and installed a Recharge EV Charging Station on its second floor parking area. As EV owners know, being inside a mall is the best time to charge an electric car.
“Electrifying mobility requires collaboration between industries, and we are happy to work with Robinsons Land to provide cleaner energy solutions for our customers with Shell Recharge now available at Opus Mall,” said Shell Pilipinas Country Manager for E-Mobility, Convenience Retail and Vehicle Care, Josemari Lorenzo Valdez.
The new Shell Recharge EV Charging Station features two 22kW AC chargers with two Charge Points each, offering a total of four charging bays. For now charging is free to Opus customers.
“Today marks a pivotal moment in our sustainability journey as we launch the Shell Recharge station at Opus, with more locations set to open in the coming months. Through this strategic partnership with Shell, Robinsons Malls continues to uphold its commitment to environmental sustainability and champion the shift to cleaner energy solutions. Together, we are driving positive change and cultivating a better, greener future for all,” said Robinsons Malls’ VP for Operations and Marketing, Joel Lumanlan.
