Are you good with cars? A natural grease monkey, perhaps? If your answer to either of these questions is yes, the Philippine Army is giving you a chance to serve the country and get paid relatively well doing it.
In a Facebook post released yesterday, the Philippine Army announced it is recruiting auto mechanics for special enlistment with an initial gross salary of P37,838 as a Private. Look:
Applicants must be 22 to 35 years of age and living in Luzon, be a high school or K-12 graduate with Automotive Servicing NC II Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Certification, have at least five years of experience, and must have a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance.
That sounds like a pretty good deal upfront, especially when compared to the industry average. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) 2018 Occupational Wages Survey, the median monthly basic pay of motor vehicle and motorcycle repair industry is at P13,299.
If you or someone you know is interested, you’ll need to send the following to the contact number included in the Facebook post:
- Complete name
- Birthdate, age
- Marital status
- Complete address
- Present job description
The deadline for applications is only until 5pm, April 13, 2020. That’s this afternoon. Are you interested in the Philippine Army’s offer or would you rather utilize your skills in the private sector? Let us know what you think of the job offer in the comments.
