There is incessant buzz, pun intended, about electric vehicles, but very few people have tried them. And we can say that the EV motoring experience is quite different from driving a petrol-powered car.
If you’ve always wanted to try an EV to see if you’re ready for this kind of motoring lifestyle, BPI Tokyo Century Rental is offering a unique opportunity to drive one. The company has acquired a BYD Atto 3 that can now be rented or leased via Diamond Rent-a-Car.

“We believe the experience of driving a BYD electric vehicle is essential to building a knowledge-driven market,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of official BYD distributor ACMobility.
“The more people are aware of the virtues and rewards of sustainable mobility through electric vehicles, and the more they experience the ACMobility charging ecosystem firsthand, the easier it will be for us to progress towards an all-electric mobility future.”

The Atto 3 is powered by an electric motor that generates 201hp and 310Nm of torque. There are two variants available on the local market: the lower variant with a 49.92kWh battery and range of 410km, and the Extended Range with a 60.48kWh battery and a claimed 480km on a single charge. “I believe that the EV Rent-a-Car experience for both individuals and corporations will push customers to choose BYD electric vehicles,” said Satoshi Matsuo, president and CEO of BPI Tokyo Century Rental. “Once you drive BYD EV, you will be fascinated by the comfortable experience.”
