Safety has long been an issue for all road users in the Philippines, regardless of the mode of transportation. While there have always been multiple efforts from various government agencies and non-profit entities alike, the fact remains: Our roads still aren’t what you’d call safe.
A non-government organization called ACTION—which stands for ‘A Child's Trust is Ours to Nurture’—is taking matters into its own hands with its new movement called Tamang Ride. Through this advocacy campaign, ACTION looks to improve road safety in the Philippines by formulating comprehensive safety modules and driving programs that can be used across the country, both by the public and private sectors.
Tamang Ride recently partnered with Japanese companies Yamaha Motor Philippines, Honda Philippines, and Honda Foundation. Now, it has just inked a new memorandum of agreement with Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP). The contract signing was led by ACTION and Tamang Ride PH founder Hajime Yokota and TMP Marketing Division senior vice president Sherwin Chualim.

Through this partnership, TMP will provide financial assistance to Tamang Ride PH to help the latter produce the materials and develop the programs needed for its safety campaign. The Japanese carmaker will also help promote relevant content from Tamang Ride.
ACTION will continue to build and prepare this road safety campaign before it fully launches in the Philippines in the foreseeable future. Everyone is invited to take part in this—all companies across all industries including those outside of the automotive sector, as well as and even car clubs are invited to join.
