Some car lovers just can't get enough of Tamiya. It's amazing how full-grown adults can tinker with miniature versions of their favorite cars for hours. It's as if they're reliving their childhood all over again. If you're one of those people who adore the Japanese toy brand, then we've got good news for you.
Blade Auto Center has just inked a deal that will make the Tamiya brand available in its stores. With Blade branches spread out in Robinson's and SM malls throughout the country, this means that model kit enthusiasts will have easier access to their favorite Tamiya products than ever before. The official launch took place at Blade's corporate office and showroom along Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
“This is an opportunity for hobbyists to gain more access to the Tamiya brand anywhere around the country,” said Robertson Sy Tan of Blade Auto Center.
On top of selling its signature plastic model kits and tools, Tamiya will also be marketing its mini 4WD in all Blade outlets. The mini 4WD is sized between 1:20 to 1:48 scale and is powered by an AA battery. The toy is remote-free and features four direct-drive wheels and horizontal side rollers to guide it against vertical walls on un-banked tracks. It's capable of reaching an impressive 65kph.
“We are excited about this partnership and I am sure that it will expose the hobby to more people,” added Justin Uy, who is a dealer of Tamiya in the Philippines. The official Philippine distributor of Tamiya is Lil's Hobby Center.
