What can we say? There are no words to describe the tragedy that befell our countrymen in Tacloban and surrounding areas due to super typhoon Yolanda. We at Top Gear Philippines, just like everyone else, want to do our small share to help. We will be the first to admit that we have very limited resources, so we thought of this shirt project.
The shirt you see here is designed by our talented team art director, Jaykee Evangelista. The shirt features the Top Gear logo in front. At the back is the Philippine map emblazoned with the car brands available in our market. The hashtags #carbrandsunite and #yolandaph round out the shirt design.
We will offer this shirt in bulk to car companies, but we will also make this available to our readers. We will have this shirt produced on a per-order basis. We will ask for P1,000 per shirt and donate the full amount raised after deducting the production cost. For transparency purposes, we will publish on this website every single name of those who will purchase this shirt as well as the number of pieces that they will get.
Once we've found the best shirt supplier, we will announce the production cost so that it is clear how much money will be spent on production and how much will go to the Yolanda victims. We're doing this on a per-order basis so that there is no wastage. Like we said, we have very limited resources. (Please note that not a single peso will go to Summit Media or to the Top Gear Philippines staff.)
If you wish to place an order for this shirt, kindly e-mail your full name, complete address, mobile number and shirt size (small, medium and large) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use the subject head "TOP GEAR PH SHIRT FOR YOLANDA VICTIMS." For those residing outside of Metro Manila, we may have to charge a courier fee.
Spread the word, guys.
