Chinese carmaker Xpeng will be entering the Philippines sometime in the third quarter of 2026. You may recognize the brand from its Land Aircraft Carrier and its ventures into flying cars.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, Xpeng Philippines has already announced that it will initially launch with two “Smart EVs.” The ‘smart’ comes from a deep integration with artificial intelligence, as Xpeng identifies itself as a “global AI and technology company pioneering Smart EVs.”

From the teaser shared, we can expect the L03 crossover and the X9 MPV to be the brand’s first offerings. We got to take a closer look at the latter when Xpeng flew us out to Hong Kong last year, but we did not get a chance to drive it. Instead, we got to experience the onboard AI voice assistant, which seemed to have worked well for native Cantonese speakers. Hopefully, it’ll be tuned for English when it arrives here.

With that, Xpeng also boasts generative AI capabilities, which should work in tandem with advanced driver-assistance systems and other in-car software—all of which were developed in-house at Xpeng.

It’ll be interesting to see how Filipino car buyers will respond to AI-equipped vehicles. While Tesla recently introduced Grok as an additional feature in its cars, it is still a very new and unfamiliar function.

That is all the information we have for now, but make sure to watch this space for the latest on Xpeng in the Philippines. Let us know in the comments section if you would be open to living with a car with AI.
