Lexus has finally put on sale the CT 200h F-Sport that was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show last September.

According to the Japanese luxury carmaker, although the CT 200h F-Sport looks bolder and is more attention-grabbing than the CT 200h, it doesn't affect the model's low emissions, fuel efficiency and low cost of ownership which make the CT 200h "an unmatched proposition in one of the car market's most competitive segments."

A larger rear spoiler, flared side skirts, a mesh grille and new aero-styled front and rear bumpers give the car its sporty look while 17-inch dark-finish alloys and electrically retractable electrochromatic door mirrors complete the entire exterior package.

In the cabin, the distinguishing features include an F-Sport steering wheel with a flat bottom section, aluminum pedals and scuff plates, cruise control, F-Sport black leather upholstery, heated front seats, electric driver's seat adjustment and a rear parking camera that links to a display in the rear-view mirror.

The CT 200h F-Sport isn’t just an aesthetically-tweaked CT 200h as Lexus has also tuned its suspension for a more engaging drive and fitted its lateral damping system as standard. Coil spring rates have also been changed and the standard Showa shock absorbers have been replaced with Kayaba dampers to give it a more sports-oriented performance.

Despite the rash of upgrades, the F-Sport retains the standard CT 200h's carbon dioxide emissions of 94g/km and approximately 29.292 combined cycle fuel consumption. In addition, as the only full hybrid in its class, the CT 200h F-Sport can run up to 1.6 kilometers in slow moving traffic on its electric power alone, reducing its fuel use and tailpipe emissions to zero.
