The Land Transportation Office has placed a 90-day preventative suspension on the driver’s license of a bus driver who was seen playing a game on his phone while operating a vehicle. He was also issued a show-cause order and will need to appear before the LTO on July 18, 2025, and explain his actions.
A passenger on board a Kersteen Joyce Transport bus that goes to and from Silang and Dasmariñas, Cavite, noticed that the driver had his phone in one hand and looked to be playing an online gambling game. From the photos released, his other hand was on the wheel, and he repeatedly took his eyes off the road.

As per the SCO, he will need to defend his actions against Republic Act No. 10913 or the Anti-Distracted Driving Act, and violations of reckless driving and being an improper person to operate a vehicle.

Just last week, the LTO issued at least seven SCOs against multiple offending drivers. Those orders consistently listed reckless driving and being an improper person to operate a vehicle as offenses.
