The Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX) has officially opened Subsection 3, extending from the Aguinaldo Interchange in Silang to the new Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias, Cavite. Stretching 7.88km, Metro Pacific Tollways (MPTC) advertises that the drive between Biñan, Laguna, and General Trias will now only take 26 minutes.
Further within Cavite, the new segment will also shorten the usual 30-minute trip from Aguinaldo Highway to Governor’s Drive to just five minutes. The Santa Rosa–Tagaytay Road is also much more accessible to motorists traveling through the Laguna and Cavite provinces.

All in all, Subsection 3 is expected to accommodate around 6,000 vehicles per day. Motorists can also enjoy free toll fares for the next month. However, regular fees will still be in effect from Mamplasan in Biñan, Laguna, to Silang (Aguinaldo) in Cavite.

Up north, MPTC also opened a new segment on the Manila–Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), boosting connectivity between the cities of Parañaque and Taguig. After opening in March 2026 and remaining toll-free throughout April, fixed fares will take effect starting May 5. We can expect the same treatment for this new subsection.
The next phase of construction will be to connect CALAX to Cavitex by bridging Governor’s Drive to Kawit. That stretch will span about 18.14km and will also see an additional interchange at Open Canal, which is further into General Trias. Once completed, there will be a direct route from the CALAX entry in Biñan to the Taguig City exit, which is close to Bonifacio Global City.
