President Bongbong Marcos announced today, March 30, 2026, that the new segment on the Cavitex-C5 Link will be toll-free for the entire month of April to reduce motorists’ financial strains amid rising fuel costs.
The newly opened Segment 3B is a 2km expressway that connects Parañaque City to Taguig City. The road segment should reduce travel time from these two cities to 15 minutes, easing congestion for surrounding roads, especially during the Holy Week travel period.

“Mula ngayon hanggang end of April, toll-free muna dito para naman mapagbigyan ang ating kababayan, lalo na ngayong Holy Week, maraming bumibiyahe,” said Marcos. “Yung biyahe na dati ay isang oras o isang oras at kalahati, magiging 15 minutes na lang.”

The Cavitex-C5 Link is a common route for motorists traveling from Cavite and Parañaque to business districts in Taguig and Makati. It allows vehicles to travel to and from these areas while avoiding thoroughfares like EDSA and SLEX. It’s especially useful during rush hour, when these roads can become heavily congested. An estimated 36,000 vehicles are expected to traverse the new road daily.
The project is aligned with the government’s ‘UPLIFT’ strategy, which aims to create interventions for infrastructure and transportation to mitigate the impact of the ongoing energy crisis.
With the rising cost of fuel and other essential expenses, this temporary suspension of toll fees on the new segment of the Cavitex-C5 Link can provide some relief for those traveling between Southern Metro Manila’s eastern and western corridors.
