Over the weekend, you may have seen long lines of cars attempting to fuel up before the scheduled price adjustment on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. In order to manage the expected increase this coming week, the Department of Energy (DOE) has limited fuel prices from March 6 to 9.

Under the limit, prices for standard diesel should not exceed P66.59/L, while 91-octane gasoline was set at a maximum of P64.70/L. Specific ranges were also given for higher grades of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.

Several stations, however, have allegedly been hiking their prices prematurely, surpassing the set ranges and overcharging motorists. Because of this, the DOE has issued show-cause orders against stations found selling fuel at abnormally high prices.
