More good news coming your way to start the day: the Greenhills Active Playground in San Juan City has officially opened. This area is located around the Greenhills Shopping Center, and it features dedicated lanes for bicycles and joggers. The best part? It’s open 24/7.
The area covered includes the streets which the city government turned into no-parking zones back in August 2019. The lanes have been painted accordingly and traffic poles have been laid out around the area. Signage have also been put up for both playground users and motorists alike. According to the mall operators, one lap around the complex is equivalent to one kilometer.
Officials from the San Juan City local government unit were present during the opening ceremonies. You can check out more photos below:
There are also designated bicycle parking areas established around the mall. To give you an overview, you can see the map below:
Considering how working out at a local gym isn’t really the best option during this ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this should be a welcome sight not just for cyclists, but also for San Juan City residents in general. Your thoughts, readers? Do you think more LGUs and shopping malls should follow suit? Let us know in the comments. You can also check out more photos of the new Greenhills Active Playground below.
